Hematology deals with diseases of the blood and blood-forming organs, including anaemia, clotting disorders and blood cancers such as leukaemia and lymphoma. In Switzerland it is closely linked with oncology, and patients are usually treated at hospitals with dedicated haematology-oncology units. After cancer treatment, haematology patients may move into internal-oncological rehabilitation.
