Hirslanden Clinique Bois-Cerf traces its origins to 1892, when the Trinitarian Sisters of Valence hired the Petit Bois-Cerf villa in Lausanne to care for the sick and poor; the community sold the clinic in 1987, and it joined the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group in 1998. Today it has 68 beds, 11 of them in continuous care, 5 operating theatres and around 340 affiliated specialists. The clinic hosts institutes and centres of excellence including an orthopaedic surgery centre, an ophthalmology centre, an oncology centre, a cardiovascular rehabilitation centre, an institute of lithotripsy, a radiology institute and a radiotherapy institute, as well as a sports laboratory. Its main specialities include orthopaedic surgery and traumatology, ophthalmology, oncology, spine surgery, urology, ENT and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
